As part of an event geared towards shining the light on accomlishments of female athletes, the Boyertown area was lucky enough to enjoy the return of one of our most famous national contributions in sports - Nicole Barnhart.
Nicole was honored at the Boyertown Area Senior High school where she attended and played in three different sports. Nicole went on to become a goalkeeper for the United States National Soccer team and traveled to China in a winning effort to capture the Olympic Gold Medal! It doesn't end there for Nicole as she was recently drafted to protect the net for FC Gold Pride of the new Women's Professional League which is set to kick-off in 2009 (Philadelphia gets a team beginning in 2010!).
It was great to see Nicole return home for the Holidays and our young players who attended were lucky enough to meet this former BSC player who represents what hard work, courage and determination can bring.
