Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What is Travel Soccer?
Travel Soccer consists of teams ranging from U9 through U14 that represent the Boyertown Soccer Club in the Upper Bucks Soccer League. The teams are divided into girls and boys division. These teams are also placed into divisions with other teams of the same experience and ability.

  • How are teams selected?
The teams are selected during a 3 day try out held between April and May. With the A Team coach selecting first, and then if there is enough interested players the B (and C) Team coaches will select next. If a child does not make a travel team they can still play in the Intramural Program.

  • Who are the coaches and how are the selected?
The coaches are from the Boyertown Soccer Club and are selected by the Board based on experience and education. These coaches must have (or obtain) a license or equivalent certificate with in the first year of coaching the team.

  • When are the games and practices?
Games are on the weekends (either Saturday and/or Sunday). Practices are held during the week, normally 2 practices a week. About half of the games are played at the soccer club's home field. Our home fields are located behind Boyertown Junior High East, next to the Hendricks Center YMCA. Our away games can be as close as Pottsgrove to as far away as an hour's drive.

  • Who referees the games?
The games are refereed by a licensed professional referee supplied by the Upper Buck Soccer League. However, parents from each team are expected to help by running the sidelines and calling when the ball goes out of play.

  • Are there any additional costs:
Yes, there are additional costs. Besides the $140 fee to register with the Boyertown Soccer Club, each player is expected to pay for their own uniform. Uniforms do not have to be purchased every year, but only when the child out grows their old uniform. There are also additional costs for tournaments, cost depends on how many, when and where the Tournaments are. The numbers of Tournaments teams play in are determined by the Team. Teams are also allowed to run fundraisers to help defray the additional costs.
