BSC Announces New Director of Coaching
The Boyertown Soccer Club is pleased to announce that Craig Birtwistle has been named The Director of Coaching for the club. As Director of Coaching, Mr. Birtwistle will work with teams, coaches, and volunteers to guide the overall development of club players. Mr. Birtwistle brings an impressive array of experience to the position. Mr. Birtwistle has a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from The University of Central England. In addition, Mr. Birtwistle has coached in both the United States and England, including the Premier League team in Birmingham, England. Mr. Birtwistle currently holds a UEFA B, NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Diploma and NSCAA Premier Diploma.
As BSC Director of Coaching, Mr. Birtwistle will provide a high-level of coaching, evaluation, and training for coaches and players. He will create an overall plan for soccer development while managing and coordinating the coaching staff based on the club’s philosophy. Working closely with coaches, Mr. Birtwistle will implement performance goals for players from U6 through U18 age groups. He will create a standardized method of evaluation for travel tryouts and team selection and execute formal, periodic evaluations of the travel coaching staff and teams.
BSC Board of Directors feels this will be an important step in furthering the club’s goal to promote youth soccer in the Boyertown area. As Mr. Birtwistle begins his new position at Boyertown Soccer Club, he will act as a liaison between BSC and outside training organizations and will work with high schools and local colleges to build mutually beneficial relationships.
Mr. Birtwistle resides in Downingtown, PA. He is married and has a five month old son. He will assume his position as Director of Coaching in the New Year.

General Public Meetings
The General Public Meeting of the Boyertown Soccer Club is held on the third Tuesday of each month at 8:00 PM at the Boyertown Borough Hall. We always welcome coaches, parents, referees, or any individual to come to any of our board meetings. We welcome suggestions or ideas that can be a great contribution to the Boyertown Soccer Club.
